I recently got the new Benefit World Famous Neutrals Palette and it just hated the packaging. It's too bulky for travel, and I don't keep the cream shadows in the box, so it just didn't make sense to keep the shadows in it.
Here's what it looked like when I got it
So I got an ELF quad palette to put them in.
I took the shadow part out, there wasn't anything holding it in. They do this so that you can reuse the box when you are finished with the shadows.
Since it was cardboard, I decided to just rip the packaging off of the shadows.
After I got them all out, there was some sticky glue stuck to the bottom, but that ended up working in my favor as the palette doesn't have a magnet back.
You may be able to tell that the eyeshadows are a little smaller than the spaces, but it's not a problem because of the glue on the back.
Then just because I didn't want the ELF logo on the front, I used a little acetone to take the name off.
I also had some depotted Urban Decay shadows in my MAC Palette, and it just bothered me that I had non MAC shadows mixed in with my MAC shadows. So I bought another ELF quad and put the shadows in it. They fit perfectly in it. I would definitely recommend you depotting your UD shadows if you hate the big bulky packaging. Especially if you don't want to drop the $18 for a UD build your own palette.

DeleteDid you know the divider in the ELF palette pops right out? I actually depotted a bronzer and highlighters from a chunky Tarte palette and popped them in there =)
ReplyDeleteuhhh No I didn't!! Going to have to do that on one! I've been wanting to depot some other random eyeshadows, and that will work great. Thanks!!
